We are trying something a little different aimed at our senior club members and stronger juniors. Starting at 8pm and with a few nibbles and drinks – the club will provide teas, coffees and soft drinks and a few sausage rolls and crisps but please feel free to bring along any other party type food or drinks. 01.01.2016 - London Junior Chess Championships U8s & U12s

28th - 30th December 2015 Completing the London Junior Chess Championships for this season it was the turn of the U12s and our Sussex norm seekers were out in force in this notoriously tough event: U12 Major - Oliver Manchester and Leo Yu scored 5/9 securing U11 half norms; Leo and Oliver will compete at National Junior Squad trial in April Giovanni scored 3.5 and was in the reckoning until the final day. U12 Minor - Thomas Manchester scored 6/9 U8 - Elena Currah won Top Girl with 4½/7 Happy New Year to all our juniors Jonathan Tuck We also had junior club members playing in the SJC Burgess Hill Academy Winter Tournament on the 30th December where Evie Seddon won a medal for best Under 10. 21.12.2015 - Christmas 2015

Thank you all for the cards and presents. Below is a picture of the handmade chocolate chess set from Theo. The Xmas Term junior  tournament was split into two sections with Liam picking up the 1st place trophy for the over 30 graded section with Suriya collecting the runner-up trophy. Grace and Giovanni were just outside the prizes. The Challengers section was clearly won by fitrst time trophy winner Elliott Hookway on 19 points with 5 players; Rafe, Izzy, Reece, Amir and Theo all in equal second on 14 points and picking up medals.Elliott for the highest score overall also gets his name on and holds until Easter the Regency Chess Board. In the 2015 Senior Club Rapidplay Championship Semi-FinalsAmardip played two games at 25 minutes plus 5 second increments against myself and has now truly graduated from the junior club with distinction by winning both games. 14.12.2015 - London Junior Chess Championships 2015

12-13 Decemer A number of Crowborough players qualified for the London Junior Championships which was played over the weekend.
