Our last match of 2017 ended in disappointment despite the best efforts of our captain Chris Dunn. Chris completely outplayed his opponent despite giving away 56 graiding points.Unfortunately I played a dreadful game against Morgan and got checkmated in 28 moves. Autumn Lightning17 players including 7 juniors competed in the annual lightning tournament over 5 rounds.There was a three way tie for 1st place between ; Trevor Norton, Jonathan Tuck and Michael Redman each scoring 4 points with Trevor winning on tie break.The strength of the competition can be seen with 4th= shared between 1st team regulars Robert Elliston and Jon Lawrance on 3½ points while the top junior prize went to Thomas Martin with 3 points from 5 games.Junior ClubThree club nights are left before Christmas and we will be making this Friday 17th November the last round of the Autumn Term competition.
