In the junior tournaments Elena Currah & Thomas Kindell won the Crowborough Town Council Cup please see the Sussex Junior Chess website for full results.
As promised here is the email address of Bob Standley the Leader of Wealden Council. Please write to him to let him know your views on the council selling the Mead House carpark to Abbey Developments subject to planning permission for 68 homes despite a government planning inspector's report stating the land should be reserved for community use.
This will result in the loss of 76 car parking spaces that are regularly used by events at the Crowborough Community Centre and with the proximity of the housing development and lack of car parking may make the £2m Centre unsustainable. The centre receives no government or council support for running and maintenance costs and depends on the income from events that require carparking.
Here are pictures of the supposedly unnecessary car park from yesterday.
PS a pair of bronze 'JEFF BANKS' spectacles were left behind if they are yours please e-mail. Any other lost property may be reclamed at the Community Centre.
