Crowborough Twinning

Visit to Montargis 10th - 14th April 2013

We have been invited by the Crowborough twinning society to send a junior team to play a local chess club to Montargis in April and I am looking for a feel on how many may be interested.

Extract from email to France;

The next visit to Montargis by the Friends will be Thursday April 10 to Monday April 14, 2014, during the school holidays in England so there is the possibility of a small team of young players (each with an adult) coming with us.

The Friends travel by coach (and some others by car) and we stay with families, usually with friends of long standing. There are two exchanges per year for the Amis/Friends and the French will be in Crowborough again in August or September.

Reply from France

I phoned to Mr Vincent Normand ( chairman of chessboard) at Amilly. He is OK for a meet with young players of chess.

He ask : How many young players come to Montargis and how old are they?

For this meeting , he will can to do to play on Friday 11th in the evening and if it's good meeting on saturday in the afternoon.

I must to search the family for players and their parents after.....

If you can give me any feedback on whether you would be interested please let me know, if we can get even 4 players I think it would be a go and also great fun.

Coach travel cost is £150 for adults and children will be considerably less.
