Chess Club starts a new season on Friday 6^thSeptember 2019

Junior Members

This season we are going to start the junior Club at 6:20pm so that we can finish in time for the Adult Club rapidplay games to start promptly at 7:30pm.

Older juniors who wish to improve or gain an ECF Rapidplay rating are strongly encouraged to join the adults in the 7:30pm games which are played under tournament conditions.

IMPORTANT do remember to enter the SJC Crowborough Grand Prix 1 that is on Saturday 14^th September please enter via Sussex Junior Chess

As last season we will be running a Junior Team in the Mid Sussex League Rapidplay – all parents who are interested in their children playing for the team please let me know either by email or talk to me at the club.

Adult Members

As last season we will be running a 1st team in the Mid Sussex Chess League ; a team in the MSCL KO Cup and one team in the Paul Watson Trophy.

Chris Dunn has done a splendid job over the past five or so years as 1^st Team Captain but has indicated that he would like to take a deserved break this year.

I am happy to run the Cup and Trophy teams as well as the Junior team as I did last year but cannot manage the 1^st team as well so we do need to fill this position.

Adult Club meetings will start at 7:30pm and end at 10:00pm.

IMPORTANT do remember to enter the Crowborough Chess Congress on 14^th September – enter via the website or alternatively just send me an email. Please enter as soon as you can.

All members; Adults, Parents and Juniors are invited to the Crowborough Chess Club AGM on Friday 20^thSeptember at 7:45pm

We will be reviewing the accounts and setting the Membership Subscription rates at this meeting as well as the usual officer elections.
