An excellent victory by the second team with notable victories by Michael Redman and Jonathan Grisenthwaite against higher rated opponents.
Jon Lawrance on top board maintained his excellent performance this season while young Giovanni Currah on his debut for the second team came up against the vagaries of adjudication. After three hours play and all the major pieces still on the board and equal in material the game was unfortunately lost due to the presence of one strong pawn for his opponent and one weak pawn in his own structure.
Better luck next time Giovanni and well done to the team.
