11 Seniors and 7 Juniors competed in this annual Blitz event with just 3 minutes on the clock plus a 5 second increment.
4 players achieved 4 points from 5 games. Result on tie break;

Top Junior prize was won by Henry Shaw on 3 poiunts from 5.
Some of the games went on for longer than others with one player delaying things inordinately by trying to win with a single knight. He achieved the winning position with a forced mate in 6 on the board only to blow it by moving his knight, as described later by an insensitive soul, to some random square.
Halloween Junior Blitz
Earlier in the evening the juniors played their own tournament with a strong field of 10 players.
Henry Shaw won on tiebreak from Benedict Weis.
Trevor acted as filler for the first 3 rounds until Suriya arrived for the final two rounds.
Junior Club Championship
Over the past 8 weeks 25 juniors have been competing at a more leisurely pace of 15 Minutes plus 5 second increments for the Autumn Club Championship.
With a final round victory against his nearest rival Suriya Velayudham won the tournament with Lucy Hopkirk and Elliott Hookway sharing 2nd Place.
Sussex Junior Chess
The NYCA County Championships Finals took place over the weekend with Sussex coming out victorious in both the Under 16 and Under 12 age groups.
Crowborough members representing their counties at these finals were;
Under 16 ; Ben Crosby, Peter Crosby, Daniel Longley, Henry Shaw, Benedict Weis.
Under 12 ; Oliver Stockham, Rafe Chapman.
In addition Henry won his board prize.
